Lämpöä ja valoa talven keskelle saadaan viikonloppuna Fest Afrikan merkeissä. Suosittu tansanialaisbändi Yamoto saapuu ensi kertaa tänne Pohjolan perukoille. Neljän nuoren miehen muodosta ryhmä laulaa pääosin swahiliksi, mutta kielitaidottomuus ei kuulijaa haittaa, rytmi ja musiikin kieli kun ovat universaalisti ymmärrettäviä. Viikonlopun aikana on myös mahdollista saada oppia bändin jäseniltä niin perinteisissä tansanialaisissa tanssiliikkeissä kuin viileämmissä klubimuuveissakin sekä rummutuksessa. Lähdepä siis hakemaan vähän lämpöä lanteisiin!

A Boy Band from Tanzania
This weekend’s Fest Africa is bringing some warmth and light amidst our winter. Popular Tanzanian band Yamoto is coming to this distant corner of the world for the first time. Formed by four young men, the group mainly sings in Swahili but a lack of knowledge in this particular language won’t be a problem for the listener as rhythm and the language of music are universally understandable. Over the weekend the band members will also be teaching both traditional Tanzanian dances as well as some cooler club moves and drumming. So, go and get some warmth in those weary hips of yours!
